I'm reading another romance novel, and the one I've been wanting to read for quite some time. So far, I really like it. The book in question is Raziel, book one of Kristina Douglas' The Fallen series. I'm sure you've at least seen the yummy cover! Anyway, here's a little sample of the relationship between the macho alpha male and the spunky heroine:
 
Asshole. He knew I didn't have much to fight back with. Little did he know that I'd always been wickedly inventive. Maybe that was why I'd been sent to hell. Hands sliding down my body, beautiful hands, his mouth following, on my breast, sucking...

"Stop it!" he said with complete horror, pushing away from me as if burned by the sultry image in my brain.

I smiled sweetly.  "I've got a hell of an imagination, Raziel," I sadid, calling him by name for the first time. "Stay out of my head or prepare to be thoroughly embarassed."

One of my favorite celebrities, Kristin Chenoweth (best known as Glinda from the fabulous musical Wicked), has an autobiography. And I love autobiographies. And since I also love Kristin, I think that reading her autobiography is a sure hit for me. Only, I'm not reading it - I'm listening to it. And guess who narrates the audiobook? The diva herself! Do you see how magical this experience is for me?

And just because I am an awe of Kristin Chenoweth (and I think EVERYONE should be), here's a little excerpt from the intro of her hilarious autobiography, A Little Bit Wicked: Life, Love and Faith in Stages. About to perform at the Oscars, Kristin has an epiphany:

A great song. A magical night. Gown by Armani and travel by hunk-o-vator. I am in grave danger of thinking it doesn't get any better than this when someone tells me, "George Clooney is on the front row." I don't ask who else is on the front row. Is there anyone else?

George Clooney needs to know that he and I are perfect for each other. We would be instantly matched on eHarmony.com. I can already see us in that ad campaign, oozing adorable, giddily telling the story of our first kiss. Happily ever after, cue Chaka Khan, roll credits. He is my Mr. Right. The problem is, I'm still in love with Mr. Writer, a man who is more likely to show up in a "Falls on Ass" video than an "Everlasting Love" commercial. Truth be told, eHarmony would not encourage me to share so much as a cab uptown with this guy. But of course this is precisely what makes him irresistible.

My new favorite class in school is Postmodernism in English Literature, because it features many authors I've always wanted to read anyway. One of them is Ian McEwan, who I've never read before, but enjoyed two film adaptations of his books immensely (Atonement and The Comfort of Strangers). My first Ian McEwan novel is Amsterdam, and it's fantastic so far. Here's the very beginning:

Two former lovers of Molly Lane stood waiting outside the crematorium chapel with their backs to the February chill. It had all been said before, but they said it again.
"She never knew what hit her."
"When she did it was too late."
"Rapid onset."
"Poor Molly."
"Mmm."

Sticks and Stones by Jamie Craig. This is my first full on romance ever (and a gay one at that!) and it's not half bad. Look for the review one of these days. This book will also contribute to the two challenges you see on the right, the LGBT challenge and the Valentine's Day one.

Paul shoved Jack away with enough force to send him stumbling back to the wall. “Since you don’t understand when you’re not wanted, Philip will help you find your way off my property.” He sincerely doubted Philip was a Boy Scout, ready to lead the way with his trusty compass.
